I'm tired of coming up with titles for these posts. So, I refuse to think of them any longer!

San Antonio was awesome as usual! I am so glad Laura e-mailed me asking us to go! We were there for our friend Thomas' birthday shindig. He had no idea any of the buddies were coming. His wife Laura did a good job arranging it all.

We rolled into town about 4:30 Saturday afternoon, dropped our stuff off at the hotel, and headed to the Bartle's. We had a good time relaxing and hanging out. The boys had their celebratory cigars... no surprise there! We didn't head back to our hotel until almost 2am. We ended up hanging out with Andrew & Angie until almost 4am at the hotel though. I was EXTREMELY tired, but it was very worth it!! I am so excited to see them at the end of April when they make their way up here.

We never worked in the yard like I said we were going to. I suppose we should do that this weekend. It's starting to need it...bad. I have so much that I want to do in the flower beds. It is just the whole actually doing it thing that is the problem!

It was incredibly hard to get out of bed this morning. In case you didn't know, we have the most fabulous, comfy, wonderful, perfect bed possible. It is Vera Wang. I won it at the bridal show back in January 07. Up until then I had never won anything!! Well, it has about 12 inches of pillow top. Again, it is amazing. So basically, I just didn't want to get out of it. Ah yes, mornings like that will be great when we're working from home. Have I mentioned I'm excited about not actually having to get out of bed before 8am starting in June?! Working from home will be great. The dogs will probably love it more than we will!

Speaking of the pups, Sarge did great this weekend! He relaxed in his crate the entire drive alternating between sleeping and playing. I think he enjoyed sniffing around the various places we stopped to let him potty too. He is like Maverick & likes to explore. Maverick, Lily, and Presley were super excited to see us when we got home. I'm convinced Presley thinks we're never coming back each time we leave. It is sad, I know. She is always really excited when we get home and then jumps up on the back of the couch and curls up like all is right in her world. :) They're silly!

Well, as promised from last time...pictures!!

Serious Maverick. Seriously HAIRY Maverick. (Um, T, you wanna fix that for him?)

*Disclaimer...not all of our grass looks that bad. LOL! That is in a shady spot over by the fence...for some reason the grass grows spotty in this one small area.

A quick hello!

Just popping in to do a little updating before leaving the office for the weekend. Yay!

This weekend Taylor & I are going to be busy, busy! Tonight we're going to have dinner (on the patio hopefully) at Raphael's. Raphael's is a delish Mexican food restaurant up 380 from us. I'm really looking forward to some good food...and maybe a margarita?!

Tomorrow the work begins. It's "spring cleaning" time. Woo. As you can possibly tell, I'm not so excited about that. It needs to be done though. Of course on a daily basis we keep our house clean, but I need to do a deep clean...baseboards and all that junk. Taylor will be working in the yard. He will put down the Weed & Feed and work in our flower beds. The beds need to be re-mulched. I also want to buy a plastic border to go behind the stone border to keep the grass out. Last year the grass growing into the flower beds drove me CRAZY! It looks so trashy and it's a huge pain to pull it out.

Anywho... I'm out! I promise, pictures next post!

Lazy days

This weekend was a lazy one. Friday night we picked up some Rudy's, watched American Wedding, and went to bed at a decent time. It was very nice getting it bed knowing I had the next two days to sleep in! We slept in for sure. We didn't get up until almost 2:30 on Saturday afternoon! Um, I guess we've been working just a little hard lately...
Saturday night we went to Gilley's with Adam & Jenn to see Brandon Rhyder. It was a good time! Taylor & I had been wanting to see him in concert, and he did not dissappoint. I think we're going back on April 17th to see Mark Wills, Jeff Bates, and Trent Willmon. That'll be a good show!

We went to IHOP after the show so we didn't get home until about 3am. Because we had slept so much the night before I still got up around 10:30 this morning. We've just been taking it easy around the house. Did some laundry, cleaned up the kitchen, and played online quite a bit. Now Taylor is making dinner. I love our Sunday dinners!
I'll leave you with a few pics from Saturday night, and hopefully this week won't be too busy!

Southbound 35

I'm excited over here! We received an invitation last night to go to San Antonio the weekend of March 28th. We're going to make the trip. :) Unfortunately, we missed so much work when we had the flu and then went out of town to Atlanta right afterwards so I feel like we really shouldn't ask to take more time off right now. So, we're going to drive down early Saturday morning and come home Sunday afternoon/evening. It'll be another busy weekend, but it will be REALLY fun! I absolutely L-O-V-E San Antonio. We try to take advantage of every opportunity we can to get down that way. It'll be worth the drive!

Oh yeah!

How could I forget?!?! We added another member to our family since I last posted! We have another dog! No, we're not crazy. His name is Sarge. He's a miniature Schnauzer and is about 3 months old. He is Maverick's little shadow. He's super smart and lots of fun!

Baby Sarge (8 weeks when we first got him):

Getting bigger! (a couple of weeks ago):
I'll take some even newer ones soon!

Well, hello, there!

Ok. It's been since October since I've updated. Sheesh!! That's too long. Not real sure why I stopped. Life got busy I guess. Well, now I'm back & I'm going to make more of an effort to update often.

So much has happened in the months since I last updated. We had Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, my 24th birthday (woohoo), and lots and lots of work! Christmas was really fun this year. Taylor & I hosted Christmas Eve at our house with his family. It was really cool to be at our house, but it really was a lot of work. This coming Christmas we'll be with my family on Christmas Eve so we'll have a break in the hosting duties!

It's hard to believe that we're already 3 months into 2009. Time flies! Speaking of flying... I took my first plane trip to Atlanta a couple of weeks ago! It was an adventure to say the least. Let's see - we left Friday afternoon and flew down to Houston. We had a couple hours in Houston and we landed in Atlanta about 10:20 their time. Well, when we landed I got to experience flying through a storm. That was not exactly my idea of fun, but it wasn't terrible either. You know what was terrible? The fact that Continental Airlines left my luggage in Houston!!!!! Yes, my very first time on a plane and my luggage gets left. Fantastic. Luckily Taylor handled talking with the people in the baggage office. They wouldn't have liked me very much and probably would have left it in Houston even longer... :) They did tell Taylor that my luggage would be delivered to our hotel the next morning. I was doubtful that would actually happen, but I was proven wrong. When I woke up Saturday morning I could breathe a sigh of relief because my luggage was downstairs at the front desk.

But, wait. Why is it wrapped in a plastic bag? Normal procedure? Not so much. It was wrapped in a plastic bag because they destroyed the suitcase!! My bag was completely ruined. It was busted open at the seam leaving my favorite coat hanging out. The wheels were busted off, and it had black marks all over the front. Um, did it fall out of the plane?! You know I sure did pick up the phone right away to call the Continental claim service number. So after they got an earful they told me I would get a new bag when I went to the airport to leave.

The rest of our trip was really fun. Then it came time to go home. We were supposed to leave on Sunday afternoon, but it was snowing. Yes, snowing in Atlanta and I'm talking LOTS of snow. The entire airport pretty much shut down. Our flight was canceled. It was back to the hotel for another night and then to fly out Monday afternoon. Everything went according to plan on Monday afternoon. It was bright & sunny! We had to fly back through Houston, and we were supposed to have a 2 hour layover. You guessed it though. We were delayed from Houston!!! The plane we were flying from Houston to DFW was coming from Chicago. The weather in Chicago wasn't so good so the plane was an hour late getting to Houston. SHEESH!!

So... after all that madness we finally landed at DFW at about 10:15 Monday night. My parents were there to pick us up and take us home. Thank you again, Mom & Dad!! Even though everything happened the way it did and it was pretty stressful I definitely want to fly again. I've already got the itch to go somewhere soon!

I'm aware this is turning into a novel, but just to touch on one more thing. Work. Work has been insane. Taylor & I feel VERY blessed to have our jobs in this economy. However, not everyone has been so lucky. A couple of our co-workers were laid off a few weeks ago. It has made things very busy for T & me. On average we work through lunch and until about 6 or 6:30 each night. There are even some times when Taylor brings stuff home to do after that. Like I said, we do feel really blessed to still have our jobs. The real good news is that in late May or at the very beginning of June we will be working from home permanently! There are only 5 of us in the office now so it seemed silly to keep paying the office rent. (It's not exactly cheap!) I'm really excited about this new opportunity. I think it will be really good. We have a lot to do to get ready for two offices out of our house. I think it'll be worth the preparation though!

Anywho... that pretty much brings you all up to speed on the events of our lives lately. Now its up to me to keep current!
